Caramel Fruit Dip

Serves a lot. Unless you eat it by the spoonful like I do. Then it serves 1.

I used to make this every Sunday for a potluck after church. My son requested a big batch for his first child’s baby shower.

You’ll Need:

1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened

ΒΎ cup brown sugar

8 oz sour cream

2 tsp vanilla

2 tsp lemon juice

1 c milk

Step 1: Beat the cheese and sugar together. You may wanna let it sit a minute to soften the sugar up. Grainy dip is not as appealing as smooth dip.

Step 2: Add the remaining ingredients, beating well after each.

Step 3: Refrigerate for a little while to let the flavors mingle.

KellRae’s Kitchen Tips: I’ve made it without the lemon juice and it’s ok. It just tastes so much better with it.

The original recipe called for boxes of pudding mix but I wanted a healthier version.

I’ve also used sucanat instead of brown sugar and let it set to soften a bit.

Until next time, take care of the people you love and don’t forget to make a few memories worth telling.
