Walking Salad

I couldn’t possibly count how many of these my children ate as toddlers.

We use sweet apples for this but you can use whatever you like. We also reserved the garnishes for special goals met or visiting kiddos.

You’ll Need:

1 sweet apple, washed and cored

1-2 TBS peanut or other nut butter (depending on how big the apple is)

A few raisins or a chopped date

Sprinkles or gummy worms to garnish

Step 1: Mix the raisins with the peanut butter.

Step 2: Stuff the peanut butter mixture into the apple. Garnish with sprinkles or gummy worms.

Step 3: Walk outside to eat it near a faucet or sprinkler so you can rinse off before coming back inside.

KellRae’s Kitchen Tips: If you’re careful when you core the apple you can keep the bottom intact so the filling doesn’t come out of the bottom.

If you don’t want to make a whole apple for each child, after coring, cut it in half and they can just hold it sideways.

Until next time, take care of the people you love and don’t forget to make a few memories worth telling.
