Frito Lay Bean Dip

Growing up, we always put refried beans on nachos. When I was visiting my mom several years ago, she made nachos with bean dip.

Bean dip is easier to spread than refried beans and already seasoned. The only thing is the price. A family of four can eat through some bean dip!

And, I love nachos. Nachos are my favorite food group, right above soup. But that’s another story. Today it’s all about the bean dip.

You can make the regular 15 oz can recipe here, or you can get the big can and double the rest of the ingredients.

This tastes a lot like Frito Lay dip. If you think Frito Lay is too spicy, cut down on the pepper juice and peppers. You can always add more if you don’t put enough in.

I always use the little Walmart brand drink blender for this. No need to buy fancy unless you want to 😊 Its the one that has several containers and lids. I believe it was $19.97 last year…or the year before. Time gets away from me.

But now it’s time for the recipe!

KellRae’s Kitchen Tips

  • I’ve used home canned pinto beans before. I drained the beans and saved the juice to make sure I didn’t need it. It seems to make less dip. If you don’t cut down on the peppers and brine, it might be a tad spicier.
Don’t add too much sugar. Really, just don’t. Your family will think something’s weird about it. But the chickens will like it.

Until next time, take care of the people you love and don’t forget to make a few memories worth telling.
