This replaces one can in recipes.

I didn’t grow up eating tomato soup. It just wasn’t something in my family’s meal plans.
When my kids were little, they loved Spaghetti-O’s. I looked up a copycat recipe and it called for tomato soup. I didn’t have any, so I looked up a recipe for tomato soup… and I’ve been eating this ever since.
Copycat Campbell’s Tomato Soup

servings5
minutesI eat this with a grilled cheese sandwich or make it into homemade Spaghetti-O’s.
You’ll Need
8 oz tomato sauce
1 scant cup water or broth, about ⅞ cup
2-4 TBS heavy cream (2 for use in recipes more to taste to eat as soup)
1 or 2 pinches sugar or stevia, optional (cuts acidic taste)
Salt, pepper, cayenne to taste
Directions
- Mix everything together.
To eat , heat through.
To use in a recipe, it can be stored in the fridge for a few days or used immediately.
KellRae’s Kitchen Tips
- I like to add a pinch of Italian seasoning mix and garlic when I want to eat it as soup instead of using it in a recipe. My kids liked it topped with cheese or croutons.
I would make it up for using in a recipe and then add some cooked, small pasta shapes. It was our version of Spaghetti O’s.
Until next time, take care of the people you love and don’t forget to make a few memories worth telling.

Around here, recipes are meant to be shared right along with the stories that go with them. Is there a copycat recipe you turn to time and time again? Or one you want to try? I’d love to hear about it!
