Pawpaw Glenn

It was hard only choosing this many pictures.

A father, grandfather, great grandfather, and the one who teaches us how much family matters.

I sure hope Dad doesn’t mind claiming me now that it’s out there for all the world to see, lol

Dad’s the patriarch of the Bird family. He makes sure we all have an opportunity to come together. Whether it’s gardening, cooking, hunting, fishing, or just visiting on the porch, Dad always wants to be surrounded by family and friends.

Dad’s a jokester. He likes to kid around and โ€œ pull your leg.โ€ His childhood friends call him Cotton because he had such light blonde hair.

Glenn, Cotton, Dad, Bird or Pawpawโ€ฆno matter what you call him, he will be the first in line to help family and friends.

I'm not sure how I managed to cut us out but I did
I don’t know how I managed to cut Shy off one picture, me off another AND get the third off center…

One thing Dad does that we’ll always remember is he cooks a little extra and then posts pictures of the food on the family chat. He simply says, “Hog Law,” and we all know who’s able to show up does. If we show up last, we might be scraping the pot lol. It’s a good way to visit between regular monthly get togethers.

*His mom, Grandma Bird, was sick when he was born. He lived with Pawpaw Ted and Nanny Emma off and on throughout his childhood. That’s why you’ll see me referring to them as grandparents instead of Aunt and Uncle.*

We have a lot of gatherings in the Man Cave, AKA The Barn. I’ll add recipes from our gatherings in the barn as time goes on.

Pawpaw Glenn's Barn
Dad thinks it’s HIS barn and the family just gathers there. We let him think that.

Until next time, take care of the people you love and don’t forget to make a few memories worth telling.

Around here, stories are meant to be shared. Do you have someone who has helped shape you to be the person you are? I’d love to hear about them!
