Easy Cinnamon Cake

I’ve taken this to church and people always like it. My favorite topping is homemade whipped topping. The recipe is linked below.

I realize that recipe is a little bit of a time involvement, though. My family also likes Cool Whip or a cream cheese icing on this. Sometimes I don’t put icing on at all.

You’ll Need

  • 1 ½ c unbleached flour

  • 1 c white sugar

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ c oil (neutral flavored)

  • 1 c milk

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350. Mix all the dry ingredients until they are well combined.
  • Combine the oil and milk together. Mix into the dry ingredients.
  • Grease an 8×8 or 9×9 pan. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about 30 minutes. The top of the cake should spring back up when lightly touched.
  • Allow the cake to cool before frosting if you choose to frost it.

KellRae’s Kitchen Tips

  • You can replace the sugar with sucanat.
I’ve also made this in a 7×11 pan.

Until next time, take care of the people you love and don’t forget to make a few memories worth telling.
