This is one of the last recipes I made with my grandma. I cooked for her. But we made this one together.

Grandma was having trouble preparing the apples. She said she had made the recipe before and it was very good.
I peeled and chopped the apples for her and chopped the pecans. The batter was so thick, but I trusted Grandma.
I’m so glad I did!
The cake was delicious.
You’ll Need:
2 ½ cups all purpose flour, sifted
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 ½ cups vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
3 cups peeled and cored, chopped apples
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a tube pan.
Step 2: Sift together the flour, salt, soda and baking powder.
Step 3: Combine sugar, eggs, oil and vanilla. Beat thoroughly.
Step 4: Add the flour mixture to the oil mixture in small amounts and beat in between each addition. The batter will be very stiff. If you’re using a mixer, you might need to finish stirring by hand.
Step 5: When the batter is mixed, add in the pecans and apples and mix until combined again.
Step 6: Pour the batter into the greased and floured pan and bake for an hour or until a toothpick poked in comes out clean.
Step 7: Cool in the pan for 15 minutes. Run a knife around the center and outside edge. Cool another 10 minutes and remove from the pan.
KellRae’s Kitchen Tips: The cake will be a golden brown when done.
Until next time, take care of the people you love and don’t forget to make a few memories worth telling.
